Best Places to Visit in Mexico

These are just a small fraction of places that your should visit if you are planing your destination wedding in Mexico. Take it from someone who visited Mexico third year in a row! At this point we can proudly call ourselves Mexico Wedding Photographers!

Cenotes of Mexico

Cenotes are holes of fresh water in the jungle. There are different types of cenotes: open-cenotes, and cave-cenotes. This classification is related with the age of the cenote. The oldest ones are the ones who are completely open and the youngest one are the one who still preserve the dome of limestone. Cenote Taak Bi Ha is one of the cave ones, with a small entrance leading to a huge room, large dome with a lot of beautiful formations of stalactites and stalagmites.

Cenote Taak Bi Ha (hidden route of water in maya) is the best cenote to start to fall in love with snorkeling in caves and perhaps in a future scuba-diving in these amazing formations of limestone.

The Gran Cenote is one of the most famous cenotes in Mexico. Located just a few kilometres from Tulum on the way to Coba, this is one of the top diving spots in Riviera Maya. Although its name suggests it is only one big cenote, it really consists of several cenotes meandering along the verdant jungle floor and connected by wooden walkways. The color of the water is so clear that one can see fish swimming without even snorkeling.

Sian Ka’an in Tulum

In the language of the Mayan peoples who once inhabited this region, Sian Ka’an means ‘Origin of the Sky’. Located on the east coast of the Yucatán peninsula, this biosphere reserve contains tropical forests, mangroves and marshes, as well as a large marine section intersected by a barrier reef.

We had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful photo session in Sian Ka’an! Take a look here.
