Istria Wedding Photography, Croatia

Eva and Oliver expressed their wish to have their wedding in Croatia, in authentic Istrian villa. With the help of their wedding planners, they choose heavenly Villa Poropati, located between two picturesque towns, Grožnjan and Oprtalj. During their first visit to the wedding venue, the newlyweds wholeheartedly decided that exactly this villa is their dream wedding venue. They felt that this venue will be able to match all their wedding expectations and set the right mood to start off their marriage.
The dinner was served in a transparent tent located right next to the swimming pool which was neatly decorated with numerous candles. Minimalistic white decoration with dinner tables decorated using olive branches and top candles in tall glass vases dominated the transparent tent.

Villa Sheherezade Destination Wedding in Dubrovnik

Villa Sheherezade Destination Wedding in Dubrovnik

Villa Sheherezade is one of the top wedding venues in Dubrovnik but also in Croatia. It offers everything at one location. The villa hosted one of the most luxurious weddings in Dubrovnik. That of Ksenia & Otso, a couple that decided that Dubrovnik is their perfect wedding destination. Scroll down and see what our planner Dubrovnik Event had to say about this Villa Sheherezade wedding!

Luxurious Villa Sheherezade Wedding

From our planner, Dubrovnik Event

If I had to choose the most patient and persistent bride in these ten years since I have been organising weddings, Ksenia would definitely take the first prize. The two of us first heard from each other a year and a half before this spectacular wedding took place.  Ksenia came to Dubrovnik several times, both with her parents and with her chosen one, and each of her visits was planned in a minute.

Ksenia is Russian and Otso is Finnish. A very interesting combination, believe me, and our biggest challenge was to create a party that will lead a hundred guests of these two nations to dance, joy and constant action. Both Russians and Finns have an intensive program of games at the wedding, organised parties, challenges in dancing and singing, endless speeches and an open microphone, but they also expect an excellent program outside the wedding.

The wedding day began a little too sunny and we knew that we were waiting for a little more nervousness among the guests who inadvertently blame us for being in three-layer suits. If I’m not mistaken, the thermostat crossed the number 40 around noon, while our tireless team from the flower studio was stacking the most beautiful round arch in the world. Ksenia has been planning decor and floral decorations with us for perhaps the longest time. Her fantastic style came to the fore in the design of the ceremony, when in addition to the round flower arch she insisted on the green carpet. I have to admit that I persuaded her to choose a red carpet that would mark her phenomenal temperament, but I admit it was one of the best ideas I’ve seen.

The green carpet in the shape of artificial grass looked, I dare say, damn good. For a moment I forgot how hot it was when I saw that beauty. We planners rarely have “favourites,” but another recognition follows, this was my favorite wedding ceremony design of my career.

The tireless newlyweds, took a luxury speedboat to the City to take photos with a team of photographers and cameramen, while our guests slowly relaxed, cooled down and indulged in the magic around them.

Lamps on the bushes as far as the eye can see, blooms in abundance, candles and light effects like in a movie… Before dinner, a traditional Russian bread ceremony was held, a huge loaf of bread (brought from Russia, believe it or not!) presented to the newlyweds by their parents, and the newlyweds competed to bite off a larger piece. He who succeeds in this, will lead the main word in marriage, or so they say. Who do you think bit off a bigger piece at just about every one of our Russian weddings? Women, of course!

Ksenia and Otso danced the waltz flawlessly as if they were at a dance competition and we soon headed to the party. The band didn’t stop for hours and managed to dance our Russian-Finnish combination of guests, and the moment the newlyweds cut the cake, the biggest fireworks that Dubrovnik had ever seen exploded behind them. Yes, it was a hot, beautiful, fan astic and unforgettable day. There was dancing until the early hours of the morning, when our dear Ksenija and Otso were accompanied by their last guests on their honeymoon to an exotic archipelago, just like in the movies.

Pag Island Photo Shoot, Croatia

Pag is like something from a 1950s Italian film – it’s barren, rocky, with vast, empty landscapes. The Adriatic is a steely blue around it and, when the sky is stormy, the island is the most dramatic-looking place in the whole of Croatia. With a beautiful view of Velebit mountain and stormy clouds above it, Pag is a great place to take your photos. Its windy and has fantastic views!

Villa Polesini Wedding Photography & Video, Porec

Romantic proposal? Check!
Amazing wedding destination? Check!
Beautiful wedding dress, decor and ceremony? Check, check, check!

From our bride, Viktoria

Since we started living in Germany, we have been looking for a suitable wedding location in our hometown for a very long time. My cousin recommended a wedding planner. As I really liked the blog of the wedding planner, I knew that she should accompany us on our adventure and so my dream came true thanks to our wedding planner Duška from “Das Hochzeitswerk“. When we thought about where the wedding should take place, our choice fell immediately on Croatia. Croatia does not only have beautiful beaches, a very interesting culture but also incredibly friendly people. We knew, our family and friends would feel very comfortable there and that was very important to us. Ultimately, the wedding took place in beautiful Poreč in Istria at the romantic Villa Polesini. The villa itself is in an enchanting delicate pink color. Since the villa is so impressive, I didn’t want too much decoration. That`s the reason why we chose a simple but romantic style. The colours should remain subtle, so the choice fell on white with a few gold and green shades. In order to do justice to the charm of the villa, many candles and fairy lights were important to us. Even the playful trees around the table setting were shining in lights. It was wonderful!

Before we decided to get married abroad, I wanted to do as much as possible for the decoration myself. As we finally got married at Villa Polesini, I wanted as little decoration as possible! However, I still wanted to contribute something myself. We ordered an easel with a large picture frame. Duška decorated it with a matching floral decor on the day of our wedding. My maid of honour and I made funny photo tasks for the guests for the easel. They were then allowed to take photos with a Polaroid camera during the day and then attach them to the string of lights in the picture frame. I still look at these pictures with a smile on my face. A super nice memory!

In retrospect, the whole wedding was one favourite moment for me. I enjoyed every single second. But if I had to decided for only one moment, then it would be the moment, when I ran with my dad to meet my husband. It was incredibly magical. I was so excited because I hadn`t seen the ambience in the garden of the villa before. Everything was a surprise for me, I knew what everything was going to look like, but I hadn’t seen any of it yet. I only heard my bridesmaids and maid of honour screeching all the time because they were so thrilled. The moment was finally here and I could walk down the path. Seeing my family and friends, seeing the incredible decor for the first time and of course seeing my wonderful husband who was waiting for me, excited and full of joy.  I still get goose bumps and tears in my eyes when I remember that moment!

To find the perfect dress, my mother and one of my best friends came with me. I was excited because I didn’t really know what style I wanted for my dress. I tried on very few dresses because I quickly fell in love with one particular dress, my dress. My mom and girlfriend were totally horrified because they were prepared for spending a long time choosing wedding dresses because I am very picky. My mom really wanted to shed a few tears, but she didn’t make it so quickly as I decided. I was confused myself and decided to sleep over it one more night. But the dress just couldn’t get out of my head. Together my mother and my sister drove to the shop again. I tried it on and the three of us started to cry. It was just my dress. It doesn’t depend on the amount of dresses you try on until you find your perfect dress, but on how you feel about it. Once, you’ve found your dress, you’ll feel it.

The search for the perfect suit turned out to be far more difficult! We couldn’t find a suitable suit for a long time. We were in many suit stores until we found the right one, and it was still at the tailors, a week before we went to Croatia! Nobody should say that women are complicated. 🙂

My advice for future brides and grooms is to simply enjoy the day and every single second. This day is unique and therefore don’t let the little things stress you out, because they make the day special, right? The day goes by so quickly, so have fun soaking up every moment and enjoy.

Els Comellars Wedding Photography & Video, Mallorca

This is what a dreamy minimalistic wedding in Mallorca looks like!

Our couple, Meike & Raphael, choose one of our favourite destinations to get married! They incorporated their minimalistic style with that of the villa Els Comellars, which brought out the pink walls and beautiful nature surrounding the villa!

This destination wedding in Mallorca was featured on Wedding Chicks! Check it out here.

From our bride Meike

We knew we didn’t want a typical and classic wedding.
Our idea was to spend as much time as possible with our loved ones in a place where everybody could relax for a couple of days or even longer; like a weekend or small holiday for every guest!

Mallorca seemed to be the perfect place for us, for its nice temperatures and beautiful sunny weather and it was easily reachable for everyone!
We’ve been in love with the island for years, which was one of the biggest points why we’ve chosen Mallorca.

Our wedding day, in our minds, was an easy, cool summer party, with the idea of hanging around the pool, lounge music in the background, ice cream (not only for the kids) and delicious barbecue!

We wanted everybody to be dressed comfortable, summerly and relaxed. That’s why I chose a simple dress, which was not a real typical wedding dress, and Raphael chose easy summer linen suit.

The villa Els Comellars in Mallorca seemed like a great way to realise our vision. The minimalistic design, geometric shapes and clean interior is exactly what we love and it perfectly captured the relaxing and cool feel of the wedding. The showcase of the villa is the pool – where everything took part. The ceremony had the view of the pool, we had our group photos at the base of the pool (and our photographer got into the pool to take our beautiful shoots!). Decoration was minimalistic – no flowers, just many, many candles in each area, huge balloons along the pool and a big LOVE sign that was a perfect, cool spot to shoot gorgeous photos for everybody.

One of my favourite moments of the day, was my little daughter and me walking down the aisle and looking into the happy face of my husband! It was such a sweet and magic moment which I will never forget!

Mallorca Engagement Photo Shoot, Spain

We captured Victoria & Lukas’ photo shoot last June in Caló d’es Moro in Mallorca. They were amazing and so relaxed! The windy majorcan weather worked with us and we got amazing photos. Victoria and Lukas both coordinated outfits and perfectly stand out in white, contrasting colourful background of the beach and the sea.

Tulum is popular for its spectacular coastline with white sands, cobalt water and balmy breezes.
We had so much fun capturing these two love birds 😍

It’s one of our favourite travel and wedding destinations!

Cal Reiet Mallorca, Spain

Cal Reiet Mallorca Wedding Photography & Video

Romantic white & green destination wedding in Mallorca, Spain

Mallorca was new to us, and we had the privilege to explore it. Location of the wedding was a bit remote from the town of Santanyi, surrounded by stone fence and beautiful Majorcan landscapes. The day started windy, and everyone was a bit worried about the weather. But it only contributed to the beauty of the wedding day. One of our favourite details of decor that day was an absolutely beautiful floral arch for the ceremony. It fit perfectly with flora of the Cal Reiet venue. Trough the ceremony you could feel the emotion of the couple and happiness of the guests. We took our newlyweds Victoria & Lukas to a wedding photo shoot around the Cal Reiet and found a beautifully sunkissed field with perfect light!

This romantic destination wedding in Mallorca was featured on Boho Weddings! Check it out here.

From our bride Victoria

When i started thinking about the look of our wedding, I thought about plain colours like white and beige for flowers, glass and silver for the table setting and of course a little bit of green because of the plants and flowers. I also used the typical majorcan pattern on our invitations and also on our napkins and some pillows in the location.

A very special moment of our wedding was the ceremony. We had a lovely speaker, Toni, he did the ceremony in German but with Spanish accent which was so lovely and he made the ceremony really special for us. Another thing was a little surprise my friends prepared for me. They made a choreography to all of our favourite songs in the past!

The whole day was really special but if I have to choose two special moments, I would say first the ceremony,  secondly the atmosphere before dinner, as we were around the pool having these live cooking stations and the DJ with the saxophone.

My advice for future brides and grooms is to not stress yourself to speak to everyone that is invited, because it was one thing that really stressed me out. Just focus on you and your husband and try to enjoy the day as much as possible.

Before I went to try some dresses I had a look on Instagram and Pinterest about the style I like. I thought about something really simple like a silk top in a lingerie style and a skirt .. so I went to Kaviar Gauche because I knew they have the things I was looking for. But when I saw myself in that dress I thought I look really boring.

So I didn‘t have a plan anymore and just tried everything on that I liked. I visited two more stores, one time with some friends and the other time with my mom and sister.. I figured out that the fit and flair is the style I like the most but did not found my dress so far. When i went to Brautblüte, the first dress I tried on was the one I bought in the end and it was so much different than dress I had in my had at the beginning.

We tried to keep it kind of simple so we had everything in white and green. We also had many candles for a romantic atmosphere. For the outside area we had a big sky made of lights. It was truly romantic, especially for our first dance!

Engagement photo session outfit ideas

There are so many great options for engagement outfits and a lot of things to consider when selecting the outfit for your engagement photo shoot.
Should you go with lights or darks? Bold colors and prints or classic neutrals? Casual, formal or something in between?
We bring you inspiration from our couples that totally nailed their engagement shoot!

Just a couple of tips before we get started:

  • Express your personal style! The shoot is expression of you and your loved one.
  • Be comfortable and think about the location! Are you shooting on a beach? Ditch the high-heals and go barefoot! Are you shooting in a forest? Go with neutral colours and shoes that are easy to walk in.
  • Don’t match your outfits, but coordinate them! This doesn’t apply to wearing all white, but if you are wearing a red dress, he can wear outfit with neutral colours or a suit.

Take a look at brides story form her wedding day and gorgeous photos & video!

From the bride, Reshma

We met when we were in high school. We never really had a lot to do with other, but gradually we started talking and meeting up after school and the spark lit up. That’s how the love story started. We went through so many good as well as bad times together. But they never broke us they just made us stronger. 10 years later, Florian proposed. He decorated everything with candles and pictures and managed to lead me to the room, where he played our song “I want to grow old with you” and kneeled down and proposed. Everything was so emotional and beautiful! The effort he put into it was amazing 21.07.2017 was one of the best nights in our life!

As Florian is a football player it was clear to us that we could only get married in summer. We knew that we wanted to have a wedding planner, so that on the day we do not need to think about anything. We found “Das Hochzeitswerk” on the web and she helped us so much and gave us so many helpful tips and ideas and helped us on the day so much! We did not have to worry about anything and could just enjoy! We got married three times (you can never celebrate love enough 🙂 ). Our registry took place in our home town in Wiesbaden where we had a lovely ceremony with our closest family and friends. Two days later we had a church wedding as Florian is Christian. Both of our moms worked together and planned the whole thing. Seeing our families working together made the whole ceremony and day so special.

The big day was on the 15.06.2019 in Mallorca. We chose Mallorca as my family lives in England and Florian’s in Germany. We wanted to have something “in the middle” and where we know that the weather is good. Since I am always cold I wanted a “good weather guarantee” and we also always wanted to get married outdoors. We travelled to Mallorca a couple of days before the big day to spend time with family and friends and prepare the last-minute things. Unfortunately, we received bad news two days before the wedding. My granddad passed away. Thanks to our wedding planner, I did not really have to worry about anything and could mourn a bit before the big day. It was a very difficult time and I was not really in the mood of being happy and thinking of the wedding, especially because I got sick as well and the day before the big day, I had a massive eye infection.

What was funny though, was that before the big day the weather in Mallorca was not all that great, it was very windy and cloudy. But on our big day it was as if all of our loved ones, who could not make it for that day because they were watching everything from up above, made sure that we had a blue sky and sun. It was an amazing day. The weather was beautiful and the whole ceremony was amazing. Florian walked in with his mum to “Lets get married – Jagged Edge” and I walked in to “Back at one – Brian McKnight”.
He was speechless when he saw me, and I found him so stunning in his suit. We were so happy, we enjoyed each and every second. The ceremony prepared by Toni Pons was funny and romantic just like the both of us are.

Choosing a style for the wedding was really difficult, since I love many different styles!
I love pastel colours but also love the dusty blues and burgundy colours. But as we got married in Majorca we wanted something bright and light. So we chose nude, dusty rose and gold colours.
I love boho but I also love the glam style. I created different mood boards on Pinterest, but I knew when I chose the location which style we would go for. Cap Rocat in Majorca is so stunning and glamorous, so I knew that the decoration would be glam!

I probably tried on dresses in 5-7 different places. I was always waiting for that moment you see in films and TV. That moment when you try on a dress and know it is yours and you have tears in your eyes. That never really happened with me. I liked a lot of different styles.
I tried on dresses with one of my friends and then chose the best ones and showed them to my mum when she came to visit. One place we tried on dresses was Pronovias in Berlin Ku’damm. They showed me my dress and when I tried it on my mum had tears in her eyes. I loved it too but was scared to say yes. So after that we tried on different dresses in a different shop, but I could not stop thinking about that dress. That is how I knew it was my dress. So future brides, do not think you have to be overwhelmed and that you have to cry when you have found your dress. Sometimes it is the small things that show you that you have found the one.

Florian’s suit was amazing. He went with two good friends to look for his suit. One of the friends was with me to help me choose my dress, so she knew exactly what suit would match with my dress. As our colour combo was a dusty rose, Florian decided to choose a suit in that shade. He always wanted an extravagant suit and a special one. He found his suit in MK Herrenmode in Berlin and it just fitted him perfectly! The tradition that made the wedding extra amazing was not seeing each other before the ceremony. So seeing my “future” husband for the first time was my favourite moment of the day! It was so emotional.

My advice for future brides and grooms would be to enjoy your day to the fullest. Savour every moment and enjoy every moment. Don’t let yourself get stressed with small things. Enjoy the time with each other and with your loved ones. Just be happy and relax!

Domaine de Zekrit Wedding Photography & Video, Beirut, Lebanon

Glamorous Lebanese wedding at one of the Beirut exclusive wedding venues, Domaine de Zekrit

If you’re looking for the real East-meets-West, you need look no further than Beirut. This fast paced city, that many call the Paris of the Middle East is not really relaxing. It’s polluted, chaotic but filled with energy, and that is a part of its charm and addictiveness! Excellent museums, the character of bazaars and small streets, the beautiful waterfront and the amazing Raouche Rocks, are all good reasons to travel and explore this magnificent city.

Even if newly engaged couples from other countries don’t usually see Beirut as their go-to wedding destination, couples born there know that the city is a good choice for a magnificent wedding 🙂

Reem & Marwan started their day getting ready at different locations. While there was a Beirut kind of party at her place, with an amazing entertainment, Marwan travelled almost an hour through the city rush (which is always there, regardless of the time of day) to get to the wedding venue.

Being already married on Cyprus, they imagined this would a perfect wedding party event for their family and friends.
The party took place at a hidden gem of Beirut, Domaine de Zekrit. Given that we are 350 m above sea level, Zekrit constantly enjoys lovely weather, which is important during the stifling summer season when things get a little too hot.

With beautiful decor, amazing music, a great view, and awesome people, we had so much fun capturing this wedding!

Villa Eva Wedding, Ravello, Italy

Ravello, Italy Wedding Destination

From our bride:

“Our Italian love journey began 10 years ago when we both worked in an Italian restaurant in Osthofen (Germany) – Alex as a pizza driver, I as a waitress. Never being in Italy before, I was really happy when we decided to travel through Italy in 2016. Alex couldn’t wait to show me la dolce vita with all its facets. The incomparable food, history, wines and landscapes. The last stop of our first Italy journey was at the Amalfi Coast and we were absolutely amazed by the beauty of this coast. Shortly before leaving the small town of Vietri Sul Mare for our flight back to Munich, we saw some well dressed people arriving in our hotel. Watching the Italian women in beautiful long dresses and their well dressed husbands Alex and I joked about marrying someday in Italy. After Alex went down on one knee in September 2018, we cried, laughed and immediately knew: we will marry at the Amalfi Coast!

Being on our emotional rollercoaster we firstly tried to organize the destination wedding by ourselves until we decided to get some professional help by the wedding planner Das Hochzeitswerk from Munich. Looking back, this was, besides the fact of marrying in Italy, the best decision we could have made concerning our wedding. During the planning period, we were soooo relaxed and could enjoy this very special time, totally looking forward marrying each other because Duska from Das Hochzeitswerk had absolutely everything under control. Immediately, Duska presented us a summary of possible wedding venues. In December we flew to Naples, rented a car and checked our favored venue. Finally, one year after Alex’ proposal we married at Villa Eva in Ravello. (Ravello should definitely be on everyone’s bucket list as THE hidden treasure of the Amalfi Coast with its beautiful gardens and unforgettable view.) 🙂

The wedding day started (as the rest of the wedding journey) really relaxed. We slept at Villa Maria which is located in the same street as Villa Eva. We did not sleep in the same room the night before the wedding. The girls had the suite, of course. Breakfast was served on the beautiful suite-terrace with a spectacular ocean view. It was really windy the days before and I was praying for good weather. Seemed like god heard my prayers since the sun was shining, the sky was blue and there was no wind at all on our wedding day. So, here’s an advice for all wedding people out there: don’t panic about the weather on your wedding day. Always have a backup plan in case of rain, but you definitely cannot plan or change the weather. So, be relaxed at that point.

Alessandro Mancini and his team, our stylists from Salerno arrived punctually at 12 pm. They did a perfect job, me and my girls felt beautiful. Perfect choice with the result of feeling absolutely comfortable, extravagant and special on my wedding day. Next perfect choice were our photographer and videographer from Mihoci, also organized by our wedding planner. They were professional and sympathetic at the same time – at all times they gave us a good feeling and the results are amazing, we love our wedding videos and photos.

Looking back, we knew from the start that it was somehow brave to plan a destination wedding also concerning our guests that all had to book flights and hotels etc. However, with the right people around you (wedding planner, photographers, stylists, band, wedding speaker, etc.) who know how to do their job, you can really enjoy your special day without being worried of something going wrong.

We don’t regret a single decision we made and we absolutely love remembering our wedding.”

Intimate Wedding in Villa Polesini in Poreč

Beautiful wedding story from our bride Fabienne:

“It was definitely my dream wedding. I always dreamed of a wedding in front of the ocean, so when our wedding planner suggested the beautiful location “Villa Polesini” in Poreč in Croatia I already knew just by seeing the photos that this is the location I would have my dream wedding at. A couple of months later my husband and me went to Poreč to see this location in person and we were completely blown away it was perfect and so was the wedding!

We had a very small amount of guests, our closest family and our closest friends were there. So we had the chance to just be ourselves, feel comfortable and celebrate this special day with every single person who was there. After the wedding was over, my husband and I couldn’t believe how perfect everything was. A week before the wedding day we were so concerned about the weather! But these thoughts were absolutely without any reason because on our wedding day we even had rain for a few minutes, but it was perfect. In the evening during the dinner we were sitting in the garden in front of the ocean with the most beautiful sunset ever.

We also had the chance to just enjoy the day and worry about nothing because I had the best bridesmaids and maids of honor as well as the best wedding planner.
The whole day was filled with beautiful emotions and that was the most important thing for me.

And Ena and David captured these beautiful moments perfectly.”

Backyard Tipi wedding in Worcester, England

This wedding had a different kind of venue. Instead of renting a ballroom or hotel for their guests, Annabelle & Jamie decided to rent Tipi tents and install them in their backyard where they celebrated their wedding with their closest friends and family. Before the ceremony they had a small get together with their friends in their local pub, and then got married in a beautiful gothic church.

Both Annabelle and Jamie are car enthusiasts so their wedding planner made all the decorations to fit their style. Having an old car filled with flowers in their tent, table centrepieces with flowers in wheels, car cards for each table instead of numbers and a fire pit on the dance floor definitely fit their style! Their friends had their nice cars parked from the entrance of the property to the main Tipi tent so you could say they had a mini car show! The old WWII Citroen van had come up with a baker’s oven inside and made custom pizzas.

With beautiful speeches, a DJ that played 80 and 90s pop and rock hits, we can say that they had an amazing celebration with their loved ones!
