“Our wedding weekend was a huge collaborative effort between our friends and family. It was beyond everything we had hoped for. We got married down by a secluded pool overlooking a riverbed with the untouched Moroccan countryside as far as the eye could see. The hotel has such incredible botanical gardens and it was a perfect, clear, hot and sunny day with a gorgeous gentle breeze. We got married at 5:30pm as the sun was just beginning to drop which created a really special light. After spending the day in one of the neighbouring villas to the hotel getting ready and relaxing by the pool, my dad came to get me and we all walked across, I was then lead down to the ceremony by a traditional Moroccan Gnawa band. Our guests hearing the drumming before seeing the band, and I will never forget seeing glimpses of our most loved and cherished friends and family through the trees as I walked down the aisle.

Our dearest friend Temi married us, putting together a beautiful service written entirely from scratch with such personal references to our relationship, and a poem about the rhythm of marriage using music references that was just incredible. I felt like I had front row seats at the best show in town. Matt’s mum read a ‘lovely love story’ first, which was wonderful, then our friend Emma sung ‘Breaking the Law’ by Emelie Sande which she sung so beautifully her sublime voice filling the open space and catching on the breeze. We then asked one of my oldest friends Ben to do a reading but instead he chose to write a poem that was so insightful and funny, he’d asked us separately to describe what we loved most about one another and the way he wove those touches into the poem was pure magic, I still watch it now and it makes me well up!

We were so lucky to find Mihoci Studios who kept us laughing the whole time we had our photos taken. Arriving early in Essaouira a couple of days before we had spent the previous afternoon taking some shots in the medina and on the beach, which totally put us at ease and meant we were so much more relaxed on the wedding day, especially as neither of us like having our photo taken! The reception was then by the main pool of the hotel as the sun was setting, the rows of bougainvillea creating a brightly coloured flower wall which made everyone’s beautiful dresses and suits stand out. We had asked everyone to wear a ‘touch of colour’ and our guests did not disappoint!

We were then lead through by the Gnawa band to the front of the main house and had dinner outside under a gorgeous clear sky with candles covering the tables and hanging from the trees. It felt like 1001 nights! We found an amazing local florist Anna who used sumptuous red and pink rose bouquets for the table which looked stunning and had local Moroccan mint tea glasses as wedding favours. The menus we had printed with a hand painted Illustration of the Casablanca records album cover, the order of service and of invites also used the same picture.

Music was so important to us and we used Higher Love DJ’s. Jake was amazing and really got to know what we liked and kept everyone on the dance floor until 3am! We didn’t have a first dance but later in the evening, Jake played “I want you in my Soul” by Lovebirds, and with everyone cheering it sort of turned into a first dance that felt much more natural and true to us and how our story began.

The following day we had a BBQ brunch and then headed to the pool for more music and dancing. My dad who DJ’s Northern Soul and has an amazing collection of records started of the day by playing with everyone blissing out to the soul tunes in the sun, again such a magical moment. Our friend Hiroki also managed to bring over 30 inflatables for the pool which was a truly incredible sight! What touched us most about the whole weekend was just how much love we felt and everyone’s contributions throughout each part made it so personal and a true celebration of our life together. We both spent the days after our wedding saying how lucky we felt to have each other, our families and our amazing friends. The smiles have not left our faces!!”

“Nikol and Fabio have met four years ago through some friends. You can’t say it was love at first sight, however, after several dates they found out that they have a lot of common interests and goals. After a year Nikol and Fabio decided to move in together, quickly realising that they work perfectly well together and make up a great team. Six months later, Fabio proposed to Nikol in New York with an engagement ring from Tiffany’s, which Nikol have always whished for.
Planning the wedding, Nikol suggested to get married on the Seychelles, at first Fabio liked the idea, but he quickly changed his mind. On the best day of his life he would like to gather his friends around him. Therefore they had to find a new location. Fabio reminisced about their first summer holiday together in Dubrovnik. Nikol was thrilled about this proposal.
On August 2nd, 2016 the time has come. The marriage ceremony took place in St. Ignatius church whereupon everyone moved to the wonderful Hotel Excelsior for the dinner and to party. It was an unforgettable day!”

Traditional Paros Wedding, Greece

This traditional wedding took place in Paros, Greece. Paros is among the most popular islands of Cyclades. It’s characterized by whitewashed sugar houses, paved streets, blue-domed churches and gold-sand beaches.

Chrysanthi & Vassilis had a great wedding full of laughter. The happy couple choose a spot on the beach where everyone would have a great time. They let the scenery inspire decor and overall vibe of the wedding. From beach and meadow photo shoot to night reception, their day was full of romance.

Marian & Roberto are wonderful people who immediately won me over with their outgoing, temperament and warmth. These are people that you don’t find every day, but when you do, it feels like you know them your whole life. Anyone who have seen their wedding immediately reacted “wow”! Wow for the location and the perfect country house Mas del Mar that dates back to the 17th century, situated close to the coast, near Girona (Spain), wow for the emotional ceremony that was right next to an old olive tree, wow for the decorations that Marian and Roberto arranged themselves, wow for the great food that you could get from the food trucks, wow for a great atmosphere, and even more wow, wow, wow. In fact, I think this wedding was led by the enormous amount of positive energy from the newlyweds and their guests, everything else was just a plus.

The Dolder Grand Wedding, Zurich – Switzerland

The Dolder Grand Wedding, Zurich, Switzerland

Mostafa is from Egypt, Jetmire from Kosovo, Mostafa lives in Australia, Jetmire in Switzerland. But the distance and nationality plays no role when the two of them are together.
This time Zurich bonded them forever. A beautiful city, the largest one in Switzerland, surrounded by high snow covered mountains was the perfect scenario for an elegant wedding for these two people.
The winter sun created a special look to the landscape and the spectacular view that can be seen from the high altitude Zurich where the beautiful Dolder Grand Hotel from 1899 is located, in which many famous guests stayed.
The wedding started with a quiet and pleasant pace, the guests enjoyed an excellent meal and after the atmosphere went wild on the dance floor with many traditional dances and music from the two cultures where Jetmire and Mostafa come from.

“Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata”, as would some Italians say. It literally means “Wet bride, lucky bride” and in different cultures there is a similar kind of consolation for the “wet bride” that rain on the wedding day means happiness in life. Whatever it is, these newlyweds really were happy, but also wet newlyweds. Just as the romantic wedding ceremony began by the Schliersee lake, not far from Munich, it started to rain with such force that it soaked the guests, bride and groom in a mather of seconds. But after that moment there were more smiles than drops of rain. Location of the wedding and the ceremony itself was beautiful and surrounded by enchanting nature, but a special and intimate atmosphere that the rain created.
For us photographers and videographers, there is nothing more beautiful than positive and smiling people that are in love like Elsie & Marvin. I think that their photos couldn’t show any other emotion then that, and are one of my favourites from this year.

Also on this wedding we were honoured to get the opportunity and work with the top artists ranging from the wedding planer: Das Hochzeitswerk, who gathered all those talented people like Alma Pasteles who made this beautiful cake, Das Bluhende Atelier who always has perfect flowers, Diana Zwarthoed who knows exactly how to emphasise the most beautiful thing on the brides face, and also the superior band Mojo Pin.

Be sure to check the video we filmed at this wedding because it offers another different view of the day, and we’re really proud of it. ;)
