Summer Wedding in Fort George, Vis Island in Croatia

The fortress was built by British Royal Navy in 1813., and today it’s one of the top wedding destinations in Croatia. Roof terrace is a fantastic place to be during sunset, which is one of the most beautiful ones in the Adriatic. But beautiful views of the Adriatic Sea and surrounding islands are not the only things that make this wedding venue amazing. Kristina & Samuel saw that, and gave their wedding guest a beautiful experience, surrounded by beautiful nature, with great weather, amazing Mediterranean cuisine, and perfect Dalmatian setting.

Osijek Wedding Photography, Croatia

Our love was love at first sight. We met one summer day seven years ago, and became inseparable. During that time, I went to college on another town, and was sad cause I met my soulmate from whom I will have to be apart. My sweetheart promised me that nothing will stand between us, especially the distance! The distance didn’t stop my Fedja to visit me every Wednesday after work, going back to work at dawn – just as he promised. Years went by, our life changes, but we remained in love as on the first day.

We knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. On summer of 2019, I got my specialisation, and Fedja said we need to celebrate! He took me to a small, deserted island Radelj, near Murter. I didn’t suspect a thing. Completely alone on the island, in a beautiful Villa Immortelle, while looking at the sea and the sunset, Fedja took a beautiful ring that looked like it was made for me, and asked me to marry him.

We decided to get married in the summer of 2020, and we knew that our planner Tihana from Studio Happiness will help so that everything is perfect. We didn’t find traditional wedding interesting. We knew that our wedding was going to be different, fun and without much protocol. We planned a big party with 200 guests and outdoor wedding. Tihana organised without any problems everything for July 2020. In December 2019 we find out something that changed our plans and it wasn’t only COVID! We learned that in August 2020, exactly on the seventh anniversary of our relationship, our little victory will be arriving – our baby Viktoria.

Pregnancy, pandemic and planning a wedding, sound like a catastrophe recipe. Despite the fact that everything was planned for July, we decided to change the plan and make a smaller wedding in Dubrovnik. With the help of my amazing aunt and uncle who live in Dubrovnik, we managed to plan that wedding too! The church, restaurant, accommodation, photographers, makeup and hair – everything was done in a blink of an eye. Unfortunately, measures, passes and uncertainty of the whole situation made us cancel everything. Discouraged we almost gave up. Amidst all the problems, we realised how insignificant the little things that used to worry us are, and the only the we want is to be together and to promise each other love and fidelity in the circle of our dearest people.

We scheduled a ceremony in the church of St. Michael in Osijek Fortress. Friends of Fedja’s parents gave us their country house “Mikin dol” in Baranja, which is surrounded by beautiful forest ,orchard and a lookout with a beautiful view. Luckily, our photographers, Ena & David Mihoci, were free to take our photos. I gave up a wedding dress and ordered a white suit in Zara, treated myself with striking Jimmy Chooes, and Fedja bought blue suit in Varteks. The wedding rings were a first wedding gift of Fedja’s family friends. We contacted our relatives and friends: “Guys! This time for real! The wedding is on June 6th! :)” Tihana took care of everything else.

It was raining the week before the wedding, every day. But on the wedding day, the weather was sunny and perfect. We woke up, and the day seemed like any other, without any stress that I thought I would feel. Went to get my hair and nails done. My friends came to my house to get their makeup done. I put on my moms earrings and necklace that my maid of honour gifted me. We were all in our suits, and went to the church!

The ceremony was wonderful. Walking toward the altar, holding my dad’s hand, watching my beautiful smiling fiancé as the Allegro band sand softly in the background with a guitar… It was hard to hold back tears of joy. The day has finally come, when we can promise each other love and fidelity in front of all our closest and dearest people, for better or for worse.

After the ceremony, we went to Baranja. The house in Mikin dol greeted us in full glory. A beautiful green glade surrounded by lamps was the most perfect dance floor, a gazebo where chef Nenad Komes made his specialties on the spot (which people still talk about today), a gin and tonic bar, a golden tub full of beer and antique wooden tables decorated with beautiful peonies and more flower arrangements from Fantasies of the Flower Atelier. Our photos were hung on a large wooden frame, and the guests took the succulents, as our gift to them, home.

I changed into a short white dress sewn for me by my aunt, Fedja changed into shorts and put on flip-flops. We danced the first dance barefoot, spontaneously and coiled in our style. The speech of godmother Victoria moved us to tears, and the speech of godfather Hrvoje also made us laugh. DJ Omke played until the late hours of the night – karaoke was sung, breakdance was danced, we lit a fire and baked sausages on sticks.

When I was a little girl and was fantasizing about my wedding, I couldn’t even imagine a day as beautiful as ours. Despite all the intricacies, delays and 1001 unfulfilled plans, I deeply believe that fate wanted our wedding to be just then and to be just the way it was – relaxed, happy and magical. I will forever remember that sweet trepidation and excitement, how much our faces ached from the sincere laughter and the baby’s favorite belly movements as she danced with us.

Hotel Bardo Photo Shoot, Tulum

Tulum Birthday Photo Shoot in Hotel Bardo

Hotel Bardo is a chic location right in the heart of the Mayan jungle in Tulum. Bohemian decor, jungle-inspired textures and beach bungalow are the best parts of Bardo hotel. Bardo feels like secluded and exclusive retreat with an emphasis on highlighting the Mayan jungle. We had the pleasure of capturing these two wonderful people and the beauty of Hotel Bardo.

It was an interesting and happy combination of circumstances that at the time of our stay in Mexico, Audrey was there because of her birthday with her Nico. Audrey is also a wedding photographer and one of the best in wedding industry, but this time she delighted us by standing in front of our cameras! Audrey and Nico are a lovely couple who do not lack French style and elegance, and they are so nice and easy going people whose company we really enjoyed.

Romantic Wedding at Stunning Fort George on Vis Island

Fort George on Vis Island in Croatia is a stunning location for a wedding, and as wedding photographers, we were thrilled to capture the beauty of one such event.

The bride and groom had chosen this venue for their special day, and as soon as we arrived, we understood why. The stunning lighthouse stood tall against the crystal blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, providing a dramatic backdrop for the ceremony.

As the couple exchanged their vows, we were struck by the natural beauty that surrounded us. The lush greenery of the island, the sparkling turquoise waters, and the rocky cliffs added to the romance of the day.

After the ceremony, we took a walk around the grounds of the fort, taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings for some incredible wedding photography. We captured some beautiful images of the newlyweds on the rocky cliffs and by the sea, with the magnificent lighthouse in the background.

As the sun began to set, it cast a golden glow over the entire island, creating a magical atmosphere that was perfect for the reception. The couple and their guests danced the night away under a canopy of stars, surrounded by the beauty of Fort George.

For couples looking for the perfect location for their wedding, we can’t recommend Fort George on Vis Island enough. The stunning scenery and rich history of this location create a romantic setting that is perfect for couples looking to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Sponza Palace Wedding in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Our couple opted for a destination wedding in one of the most famous wedding destinations of all, Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik is a beautiful and historic city located in the southern part of Croatia. With its stunning coastline, ancient architecture, and picturesque landscapes, it is no wonder that Dubrovnik has become a popular wedding destination for couples from around the world. After all, as wedding photographers, it’s one of our favorite wedding destinations.

Our couple decided to have their wedding ceremony in Sponza Palace. This 16th-century palace with an open courtyard is located in the center of Old Town Dubrovnik. The architecture of Sponza Palace accentuates every wedding style and provides a stunning backdrop for wedding photographs.

After the ceremony, we took a walk around the Old Town Dubrovnik, getting inspired by the streets and wonderful places like the Rectors Palace, Dominican Monastery, and its famous steps. The inspiration is never-ending and we could walk for hours taking wonderful photos of our newlyweds.

The newlyweds met their guests in a private villa with an incredible view of Dubrovnik.

Villa Poropati Wedding in Grožnjan, Croatia

Intimate Wedding in Villa Poropati, Istria, Croatia

Villa Poropati is a luxurious 18th-century estate located in the scenic region of Istria, Croatia. The estate is rich in history and has been the residence of aristocratic families for generations. Today, it serves as a unique and breathtaking location for dream weddings and other special events.

The villa’s lush gardens, pristine lawns, quaint paths, and opulent interior make it an ideal location for exchanging vows and wedding photography. Our couple had their wedding ceremony in the villa’s courtyard, where the accent was on beautiful decor with lemon details.

And while the guests enjoyed the enchanting atmosphere of the Villa Poropati, we took the newlyweds to the small town of Grožnjan. During the summer, Grožnjan turns into an artistic beehive: it opens summer music academies and artistic workshops. It is known as a town of artists, olives, and wine. This picturesque town is a perfect location for wedding photo sessions.

Later, the villa provided a wonderful ambiance for the cocktails and upcoming reception, which took place in a tent (again with wonderful flowers and lemon details!). The wedding party went on through the night underneath the romantic lights and sound of music and laughter.

And in Sponza Palace, where the most glamorous ceremony took place!

Sponza Palace Wedding Ceremony

This glamorous Sponza Palace Wedding left us in awe! Not only is Sponza Palace one of the top wedding ceremony venues in Dubrovnik, but the decor this team put into the wedding was amazing! Sponza Palace is a fantastic for wedding ceremony. Seeing Sponza Palace for the first time, Danielle knew that she wants to have the wedding ceremony in the famous courtyard. She had a vision for her wedding: white, clean, relaxed and glamorous. LeSalon did an amazing job decorating Sponza Palace and it was just like Danielle imagined it! A beautiful chandelier completely encased in white flowers was like a centrepiece of the whole ceremony. Their altar was decorated with white rentals and white flowers.

Meneghetti Winery Wedding in Istria, Croatia

Meneghetti Winery Wedding in Istria

Located in Istria, close to the Adriatic Sea, the Meneghetti Winery looks like a place that is hard to find, but when you do, you are left speechless. Luxurious, private, sun-kissed, with rows of endless vines. It’s a perfect place for outdoor vineyard wedding. This Meneghetti Winery wedding is relaxing, with beautiful views and delicacies of Istrian cousine.

Inspired by their love of the simple things in life, like good food & great wine, Katharina & Charles wanted a wedding infused with the colours and flavours of Istria. The Stancija Meneghetti (Meneghetti Winery) with its architecture, rolling vineyards and the cozy atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed wedding weekend they imagined. Arriving from USA, the couple wanted to spend a wonderful weekend with their friends and family.

Katharina & Charles had their intimate ceremony under the trees. The wedding ceremony was conducted by her brother and a dear friend. As the golden hour came closer, the reception was absolutely stunning. Rows of tables in front of a pool, beautiful mediterranean decor and table settings…. We loved capturing the details of olive branches and white flowers! The whole wedding decor had a perfect Mediterranean vibe! And while our couple had their lovely wedding photo shoot in the Meneghetti’s vineyard, their wedding guests enjoyed cocktails near the pool. Their night ended with many beautiful speeches and a party to remember!

Greenhouse Wedding Styled Shoot

Wedding Styled Shoot in an abandoned greenhouse in Slovenia

This styled shooting is inspired by the abandoned greenhouse that beautifully agrees with winter. When nature is asleep and is completely untouched, the greenhouse stands still. The idyllic Palace Gutenbuchel, with its tranquil courtyard, provided us with backdrop that easily enchants you into its beauty.

The idea was to invigorate the greenhouse with flowers and elements. To connect the outside landscape with the inside of the greenhouse. It was important to match the colours of the greenhouse interior with the selection of flowers and rentals. The colours are mild, imprinted with winter tones of nature. Our great team put emphasis on the use of natural elements – wood, silk, linen and ceramics!

The details on the table vary from rough texture to the subtle and soft parts. Details are imitating the weather and how it impacted the greenhouse over time. We used sustainable elements; dried and dehydrated flowers that can be used multiple times. The candles undergo melting process, that results in wax used to make invitations! And cut flowers are dried and used in new projects.

The wedding dresses are flowy, simple but intricate, and fit perfectly with each backdrop. Having a lot of beautiful wedding details to work with, and beautiful wedding dresses to capture, we worked with talented people and used the palaces outdoors and greenhouse to its extent!

Al Fresco Vineyard Wedding in Vienna, Austria

Romantic & intimate al fresco vineyard wedding with a fantastic view of Vienna

Two of our favourite things about this al fresco vineyard wedding in Vienna were the relaxing vibe and the view! The wedding took place in a winery above Vienna and it had one of the most fantastic views of the city that we had the pleasure capturing!

Wailand winery is a gem of al fresco vineyard weddings with its panoramic view of Vienna. Tijana & Luka got ready together in Vienna and took a Mini Cabrio to the winery. Their ceremony was small and intimate. Their favourite people behind them, while the vineyard and the whole Vienna were in front. We took them back to the Vienna suburbs for a small photo shoot, knowing that when the golden hour strikes we will take them to the vineyards for a full blown wedding photo shoot! Their day went by while listening to jazz, drinking winerie’s sparkling wine and enjoying the summer day with their family and friends.

From our bride Tijana:

Due to pandemic restrictions, our planned event was canceled. We actually planned a wedding ceremony on a large hotel terrace and a big party afterwards, but had to cancel it. After being together for thirteen years, we still wanted to say yes in 2020, so with huge help of friends and family we’ve managed to organise another gathering in about three weeks time!  Our vineyard wedding was al fresco, with a small number of our closest guests. We had a ceremony on a hill spot above the vineyard, overlooking the beautiful city of Vienna, accompanied by a jazz trio.

Having been lucky with the sunny weather, we didn’t need the indoor space of the winery. Later during the day, we transferred to the upper terrace, with delicious dinner and the party that went on with a traditional Balkan band playing. For our dear guests we had small thank-you gifts. A cute hand-made mini salt and pepper bottles with veils and bow ties imitating Luka & me.

The wedding dress was kind of a pleasant coincidence. I went to this great wedding concept store, Loveglow, to buy wedding shoes after I’ve read that they are Austrian importers for this USA brand of shoes Bella Belle. They were a perfect match! Since we’ve made the appointment at the store, where we drank sparkling rosé and had snacks; I’ve tried on some dresses, two of which are from the same collection and looked really special. After a few days I came back and decided for the close fitting bare-back lace dress which suited the laid back wedding and felt like the right one!

The decoration followed the natural vibe of the outdoors. Our friends assembled different white flowers, eucalyptus, rosemary branches in asymmetrical style. And of course lots of candles! Everything was perfect, and when the evening came, the whole location became a hundred times more romantic! Sunset and dusk overlooking the city, right music, drinks and great mood under the fairy lights felt overwhelming. It was completed by the moment when a friend sang a love song for Luka & me. It was magical. Everything was improvised and yet felt exactly right.

Are you in love with al fresco vineyard weddings as much as we are? Then take a look at this one from Istria! If you are looking for more inspiration from weddings in Austria, the head over to our Austrian weddings page!

Pag Island Wedding Photography & Video

Intimate Wedding on Pag Island, Croatia

This beautiful intimate Pag Island wedding could be summed up as Adriatic meets the sky! The location, Pag Island, is nothing short of breathtaking. Blue skies, the biggest Croatian mountain and sapphire Adriatic Sea gave us a fantastic background to wedding photos of Ana & Marin. Pag is a deserted enough to give us amazing views but at the same time is rich with culture and gastronomy! Pag is an island for hedonists who will gladly escape to this paradise in the Adriatic to exchange vows and enjoy everything this destination has to offer!
Ana & Marin choose Boškinac, a family hotel on Pag Island, situated almost in the middle of nowhere, giving them and their guests a complete privacy to enjoy their happy day in peace.

Wedding weekend on Pag Island starts here…

Our story begins after we met for the second time, during the celebration of birthday of mutuals close friend’s daughter. In the neighborhood where I lived, in Split we often walked past a cafe that has a graffiti of Audrey Hepburn on a Vespa Its from a movie Holiday in Rome, which is one of my favourite films. It also had a signpost “Split”. I had a feeling, that for me really “all roads lead to Split”. After two years, we got engaged, and decided to get married sometime during 2020. My wish was to get married in the spring.

The wedding was supposed to be in April, and for 150 guests! But we had to postpone due to the pandemic. Given the uncertainty of the whole situation, any postponement of such a larger celebration seemed risky to us. So we decided to get married in a small circle of about 20 people as soon as the measures allow. We started with new plans in early May. Our priorities were natural ambience and local food. Marin came with the idea of Boškinac Hotel, winery and restaurant, on Pag Island. Boškinac is a small hotel and restaurant in Stara Novalja with a beautiful stone terrace and a view of the olive grove, vineyard and Novalja field. I told Marin that I wanted to get married in the church of St. Ante. So we did. He found a small church St. Ante near Boškinec, from 14th century. Completely made out of stone.
I designed my own dress with the help of seamstress Mirjana. And we finished it last minute, due to previous quarantine! I wanted the wedding dress made from natural material. A simple, antique cut and with long sleeves. Since the shops were not open during the quarantine, I could’t make buttons for the sleeves and the back that needed to be “dressed” in the silk from which the wedding dress was sewn. I ordered the same through Etsy and luckily they fit perfectly. Marin bought a beautiful blue suit at Varteks, ten days before the wedding.

We traveled to Pag a week before to prepare everything. I decided to make bouquets myself to decorate the church, courtyard and the restaurant. Marin’s grandmother borrowed me her the antique lace, teapots, vases and candlesticks. While  I wrapped the vase jars with jute and lace one night until the late hours, Marin stacked the platters and prepared cold side dishes for Friday, which in my opinion were a real work of art, visually and tastefully.

The wedding as well as the preparations were full of funny and unexpected moments. For example, maid of honor Anja and I were late for the wedding planned at noon, because the morning preparations were a bit complicated. In parallel, Ena and David, my friends who photographed our wedding, ironed the wedding dress at the last minute, because they took it to photograph it before dressing and realized that it was crumpled. From the jewelry, I wore earrings and my mother’s old gold bracelet from the 60’s. Marin wore a lapel in the shape of a Pag lace butterfly with a floral lapel, which is a legacy from the family.

The ceremony itself was wonderful. The church filled with our dearest people and the wonderful words of the sermon was really like from a fairy tale. The vocals of Iva from TransAcoustica from Split, who normally sings jazz and sevdah, brought us to tears. Imagine Ave Maria and the song Depths in a small old church with perfect acoustics. The photo session was more fun considering that we were photographed by Ena and David Mihoci and Ante from MihociStudios with whom we are friends.

During dinner, surprise speech from the maid of honour and best man made us laugh and cry. We continued the party after dinner until early morning of the next day. We finished our weekend on Sunday, with a lunch at local tavern. Our wedding day was truly perfect, much better than we imagined it and expected. The words from the wedding that resonate with me are the blessings of priest Ranko, who wished us that this would not be the happiest day of our lives. And I believe it will not!

Fort Lovrijenac Wedding in Dubrovnik

Intimate, romantic, and fabulous are three words that we can use to describe this fantastic wedding! Winston and Richards opted for their first look just at the entrance to the Dubrovnik Old Town, forgoing the traditional first look at the ceremony. Their wedding ceremony was far from Dubrovnik summer crowds, in the courtyard of Fort Lovrijenac.
